Nous sommes dans la vallée de la Semène. Cette rivière a longtemps été utilisée pour son énergie douce. Paradis des roues hydrauliques, la forge y est née au milieu du XIXe siècle. Sept lieux exceptionnels allaient donner jour à la commune de Pont-Salomon, et ouvrir la voie à l'industrie de la fabrication de la faux et de la faucille. 

We are in the Semène valley. For a long time, this river has been used for its power. Paradise for water wheels and forging which appeared in the middle of the nineteenth century. Seven outstanding sites are at the origin of the town of Pont-Salomon, and gave birth to the industry of scythe and sickle manufacturing.
